WHAT IS INTENSE PULSE LIGHT AND HOW DOES IT WORK?

Intense Pulse Light or IPL is a light beam (not a laser beam) used to target and destroy the hair follicles. Our IPL machine is FDA-approved and more comfortable than traditional lasers, electrolysis, or waxing. Targeting the pigment in the hair, the IPL converts it to heat and ultimately destroys the cells responsible for hair growth. This unique process achieves excellent results on a wide range of skin and hair colors: in fact, darker and thicker hair creates a larger target, making this type of hair most responsive to achieving permanent hair reduction!

 

WHAT IS IPL HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser is the source of light used to target and destroy cells that produce hair follicles. Although at Mint Rose Day Spa it is most commonly referred to as a “laser hair removal,” this technique is FDA-cleared as permanent hair reduction. Permanent hair reduction indicates that there may be a few soft, fine stray hairs left over after a full series of treatments.
